PSALM Arises To Celebrate its 52nd Founding Anniversary

August 8—On the night of Sunday, almost 400 PSALMistas all over the world convened to celebrate its 52nd Founding Anniversary with the theme ARISE at 7:00PM via Zoom and Facebook Live.
The event opened us back to the movement’s humble beginnings through a Trivia Game followed by a soothing serenade of our lovely Ms. Ruth Ortiz Uy, a former campus missionary. A while when Mr. Ernie Tardo, our Chairman of the National Board of Directors (NBD) officially engaged the celebration. It was bolstered with a video message from one of the legendary personalities of PSALM, Ms. Connie Montesino, which awed the former generation of PSALMistas.
For 52 years, God has been profoundly at work in the movement which was the highlight of the occasion during the Milestone Update of our National Director, Mr. Christer Luchavez and the Word in Isaiah 60:1 shared to us by the former National Director, Pastor Norman Tolorio. There had also been messages from the previous campus missionaries such as Pastor Norman Naromal, Ms. Divina Ferrer, Ms. Tubelina Fails, Ms. Ging Regencia, and Pastor Bautista Jose Buan who labored before us in this field. Truly, changed lives give to change lives as Mr. Mike Daryl Ocol, a new campus missionary, heartily shared his Story of Hope. Moreover, such encouraging messages from ministry partners like Mrs. Sonia Lim and Atty. Aurora Chiong helped the crowd move their passion farther.
We also remembered the work and service through a Tribute video of those who passed recently in the person of Pastor Roel Tabasa, former National Director, Ms. Joanne A. Balbacal, former member of the National Board of Directors, and Dr. Joseph Arthur, founder of PSALM. Being a faith organization, Engr. Alison Koh, a member of the NBD, challenged everyone to give for the furtherance of the Lord’s ministry. The celebration closed with a dance explosion from PSALMistas nationwide shouting ‘Rise Up!’; and the trademark song called Ala-ala sung by one of the main composers himself, Mr. Ray Estrella.
It’s definitely not about those who have gone before us, but we thank them for paving the way. It is all about the great God who has sustained and blessed the ministry for 52 fruitful years. To Him be all the glory alone!
Happy anniversary PSALMistas!
